Question:
Do I need a Multimaster tool or is there something like it at Walmart or Home Depot?

My parents have this custom made home entertainment center for our old 32" Sony TV. We recently bought a sony 42" DLP [only one, on sale] and it fits in the center, but only because we had to put it at an angle as it is off by about and 1 or so. I wanted to get some kind of portable power tool that can allow me to easily dissect half an inch of wood from both sides of the center so that we can finally straighten the TV!

I'm not very familiar with tools, but I do know that the Multimaster I saw on an infomercial will do what I need it to do, but it's SO expensive to buy just for a little project like this. Can I buy something similar at Walmart or Home Depot or can i rent it from somewhere? Thanks for your help! :]

Fein's patent has expired. Dremel has a multimaster-like tool available at Home Depot, and there is another brand too. Dremel's runs about $100.

I think a jig saw would do the job for you. Get a cheap one and a couple of good blades for wood and you should do fine. You also could use a coping saw this is a little saw with a fine blade but it does not have a motor. You have to push and pull it but they cost less than 5 bucks. Good Luck

Yes. Every time someone was fired at the Home Depot I worked at (which was often), they were escorted out of the building after they got their things. Its to ensure that someone doesn't fly off the handle and hurt themselves, someone else, or store property.

Do you mean you want to cut a hole in side of unit ? not quite sure what you are trying to do. if you want to cut a hole all you need is a jig saw. $25
