This generator is portable (it's designed to use a #20 lb. propane tank). But I want to use this larger 100 lb. propane tank with it when using it to operate my water well pump. How do I make this connection from my 100 lb. tank to my generator properly and safely? Also the generator does not have a external regulator like my gas grill has on it. I want to do this correctly and most of all safely. HELP!

it should just screw in like the #20 if not you'll have to go to your local gas company and buy an adaptor to put in between.. the regulator is built into the machine

Ignore the above posts. The 100# tank has a POL fitting. You can get an adapter that screws into the POL fitting on the tank and has a male OPD fitting that your grill will thread into. It cost me about $32. Found it online. By propane seller.

I just bought this same model. What did you end up doing Curtis? Were you able to safely connect this generator to 100lb tanks? Was a new or different regulator required? What parts did you end up getting? Where did they come from?

Yep, if the hose has the usual POL nipple with internal left hand threads and it is long enough to reach to the top of the taller cylinder it is just a simple hook and go, if instead it has the newer Acme external threaded connection you will have to just get an Acme to POL adapter, replace the fitting on the hose if removable, or replace the entire hose if it isn't replaceable or the hose is too short.

To be on the safe side, go to your local propane supplier and ask them for information. They will be able to tell what to do and provide any necessary adapters you need.
