I have a shed that I am going to convert into a workshop. I will spend a decent amount of time in it. Would it be worth insulating it for future purposes? I might end up putting in some sort or wood stove, but for right now I am thinking of all options.

If you plan to spend a decent amount of time in it then yes it is very much worth insulating. No matter how good or bad of a heating source you put in the workshop insulation will help. A good example is a coffee cup compared to a thermos. The more your workshop is like a thermos the less any heater will have to work to keep it comfy and the less drafts there will be so less very cold spots in the room. When it comes to insulation more is better even in the summer. Again think of a cup compaired to a thermos it even works to keep cold water colder longer.

yes. definitely insulate it. it will help keep it from being so cold in the winter and make it easier to heat. in the summer it will help keep it from being so hot and a small fan or wall mounted cooker will keep it cool a lot easier. also consider a rubber matted floor etc. and the type lighting you will use. some lights put out more heat them others. as for as heating the type heat would best be defined to as to what kind of work etc. you will be doing there. I would not use any open flame if you will be using flammables such as some thinners, glues etc. that have flammable fumes.

Yes, it's worth it, if you're going to be spending any time in there. Insulation will keep the entire room warmer and keep your heating costs down. And you should also consider putting some rubber mats on the floor--a cold room has even colder floors, and your feet will ache from standing on them for long periods of time.
