I am thinking of changing my boiler and modifying the water pipes on my own. With regards to the flow and return pipes going into the hot water cylinder would I simply loop these together, cap the hot rising from the cylinder and tee off the hot on the kitchen sink? Also if the cold water storage tank is supplying water to the bathroom would I connect the cold mains into the tank onto the outlet of the same tank?

You do need to get somebody like a plumber to sort out the pipework as what you've proposed is certainly not the way to do it.If it's gas best to get someone 'Gas Safe' or oil Oftec to fit the boiler,if you ever want to sell your house they might want to see the commisioning form to say it's passed the test for emissions etc. Also you'd need an electrician to make sure the wiring is ok and check for 'earth',all gas pipes have to be earthed for safety so does oil.Do price around as the prices for installation vary.Don't be tempted to do it yourself ,can you imagine the consequences if something goes wrong ?There's more to it than you'd imagine .

Worcester Bosch is the suitable combi boiler you'll get and the back up service is fantastic too. As to value - relies upon on what length boiler, the position you stay and how a lot pipework must be altered. it would properly be around the £2,000 mark presented and outfitted. As for British gasoline - no they are not strong. They over charge exceedingly (they do provide credit although because of this alot of folk bypass with them) and their installers aren't from now on consistently strong. i'd attempt to locate an section CORGI registered installer and ask for references from previous artwork in case you don'tknow anyoe who has used them for my section. After the boiler is put in do not bypass on a freelance with British gasoline both - they dont comprehend what they are doing and also you'll wait continually for spares for restore. Take out the prolonged assure with the producer - £one hundred thirty in accordance to three hundred and sixty 5 days and that covers ALL factors, labour and a service. they arrive out next day (similar day in certain situations) and customarily restore there and then xxxx

I would not go to a combi unless you are actually desperate for the space that the HW cylinder currently occupies.

A system boiler will last longer and you can do things like have pumped supplies to showers. Plus no faffing with pipework.
