Does anyone know of a good hose pipe that's easy to use?

I bought one of those re-coil/spiral ones but it get taffled up more than the normal ones.

I need quite a long one that won't keep getting blocked etc.

Many thanks

If you live in the UK go for Hozelock good quality and still "British made" they do a variety of them check out B&Q, Homebase, Argos.

Some of the cheaper hose systems are rubbish/made in China a leak easily.

Buy some really good commercial grade hose and run it along the fence or bury it. Use a two way connection from your spicot hook the new hose to one side, at the other end mount it to a post with a shut off connection on it. Now you can hook up your coil hose without all the fuss. Put a hose hook on the post to hang your hose. Be sure to blow it out if it freezes outside. or leave it open in the winter.

The quickest & cheapest way around this situation is give your dad the money to take the car to a car wash & have it washed there, which will save you all the hassles, besides car washes make a far better job than doing it yourself. The vehicle gets a good wash all over & then a rinse & finally a waxing all for the sake of about $15. Nice gesture though, but honestly a car wash can make a much better job in say 10 minutes than what it will take you an hour and a half to complete the same process. And use less water, besides the car wash company will have more rights to use water than you, as it's a business & your just a citizen. Think about it! Cheers!!

I swear by Hozelock - available from B&Q or Homebase. They do 33m and 66m hoses on reels. I'm sure one of them is self recoiling.

I've used Hozelock hoses for years... They're more expensive but well worth the money. The components are made to a good standard and take a lot of abuse.

You in the UK, any DIY store sells a good range, the dearer ones are better, will not squash or tangle. The trick is to leave the tap on, turn the hose nozzle off, and wind it up and then turn the tap off, stops it tangling like a plate of spaghetti.

The best hose pipe ever is 'Rainmaker' it is not the usual plastic type, I've been using it for around 10 years it's a kind of rubber material and doesn't get kinked, I don't remember where I got it from so it may be difficult to find, but it is excellent.

WHAT THE HELL IS HOSE PIPE? Is it a garden hose? Size does matter, always buy 5/8" as opposed to 1/2", it is stronger and less likely to tangle. Good Luck!!

have a look around the DIY stores for the reinforced type of hose, they tangle and twist less than other types

Any standard hosepipe will work well as long as it is on a device to wind it in so you don;t leave it lying around for snails to wander into it!

As others have said, Hozelock is good. You will also be able to use the many and varied attachments that come with it too.
