Sound board which is like thick cardboard and fiber. Reminds me of cardboard egg crates. You can insulate the walls with R19 top with 1/2" drywall and top with soundboard (comes in 4x8 sheets). Don't forget the ceiling and the floor. The floor is often missed. Good luck and happy noise making.

a very good insulation is called ruxol safe and sound. it is made of ground up rock(slag) it will never absorb water,catch on fire and keeps the sound down very very well.
