"Cheapest, easiest", and "stable" are contradictory.

Forget folding tables of any kind. They are not designed to support that kind of weight. Someone will get hurt when it collapses.

Think of your "stage" as a floor above the floor. How would you build it?

One suggestion is to get 2x4s, 4x4s, and 3/4" plywood. Use the 4x4s as posts to elevate the stage to the desired height, use the 2x4s as framing and joists to tie the posts together and provide a solid foundation for the plywood, which would be placed on top of the 2x4 framing, just like a house.

You could also get a bunch of milk boxes, space them about 3 feet from each other on the floor, and put the plywood stage on top of them.

Whatever you do, do it right.

I’m relatively familiar with that particular table and it’s very strong and has locking rings for the legs. However, I would reinforce the bottom by stacking or putting something in the middle, like an end table with some books to shim it to the exact height; it will also tend to provide some anti jiggle capability.

I also strongly recommend you do not put anything on top that would make it slippery or make the edges less defines like a sheet. You will have kids on top of it and the last thing you need is some little teeth all over the floor or a broken arm or worse.

About 2000 million years, I would say And by the way ignoramus, it is not "magically" the legs sprouted. It took a while. Only a few religious nuts in US believe in magic. And we are not "evolutionists", just reasonably well educated people. Now you go back to your Bible and read it again like a good little boy. It has everything you need to know. Bless the Lord, Amen.
