It will destroy the blade. Change the blade to a metal cutting blade or get a jig saw and some metal cutting blades or a hack saw.

I did and can do. First you need a 10 to 1 worm gear reducer. mount that and a motor to it. Next remove the motor from under the band saw and replace it with the 10 to 1 reducer to reduse speed. Next change to a metal cutting blade and all set. The thing is the speed and blade. Reduce the speed and you can use it to cut metal with a metal cutting blade. 10 to 1 speed reduction worked well for me. You can then change pullys for more adjustment. Harder the metal lower the speed and finer the blade.

No. There are metal band saws available, but the speed of the band saw will not allow them to cut unless the saw speed is drastically reduces for the metal saws to work.

NO ----- NO === the wood blade will splinter and at the speed it is circulating it does become a very dangerous weapon of unpredictable self destruction .... get a welder to help you and be safe == the cost of the welder is far less than the loss of any body parts ..===. this Japanese style warrior knife/tool is a weapon and could be illegal in your city or state ---
