had to install this flooring over the carpet underlay. The client couldn't live in a carpeted home...after removing carpet we discovered the underlay was stuck to the tiles below. Futher discovery we found out the tiles were asbestos. So we lamaneted over the tiles. The floor feels spongy to walk on...will it last? Thanks in advance!

It should last if the lamenant is good quality... Ours was installed over carpeting 4 years ago and is still going strong... The carpeting adds insulation to the floor...

I've installed this flooring myelf, and have lived on 4 year old laminate that someone else installed. I would've ripped it up, but it would have been a really big job. I can see why you chose not too. Only time will tell. If it's a high traffic area it may not last as long.
