I'm getting married next Summer in Florida and I'm planning to do my invitations myself. My colors are different shades of Plum, Purple and Pinks. I want the invitations to reflect that. I plan to order the pocket fold invitations, but I'm looking for ideas for the inside printed part and also the outside. Most likely I will do a monogram, but I'm struggling to find a nice online template or even store software where I can create it myself. Any help is nice

this might be too difficult, depending on the number of people you're inviting...

but these are the rehearsal invitations that i made for my wedding (which is in less than a month now! :)

i also made our ceremony and reception invitations

i used a lot of scrapbooking materials to decorate (classily) what i had printed from officemax

our wedding invitations were "pop up", too, when the ribbons were untied and opened, the invitations expanded to be 4 times their size. they didn't take too long to make (maybe just 4 or 5 hours total) but i had the origami part down.

Congratulations!! I read your post and thought I might share this idea. I work in a workshop with mentally and physically challanged adults. I work in a printshop part of the workshop and we just made my boss's invites and thank you cards. Her color combo is white, brown and teal. For the invites we used teal card stock and cut it to the size we wanted then we typed up what we wanted the invite to say using a nice font and in teal colored print on white paper and printed it out. We then cut out the print smaller then the size of the card stock and we did not use decorated edge scissors but you could around the printed part then glue or use sticky tabs to bond to the card stock. Then at the top we used a hole punch slotted not a circle but a circle will do. We centered it to the middle for 2 holes the we put fabric ribbon she found that was white, brown and teal striped through the holes and tied a bow. They were elagant looking and easy. For the thankyou cards she purchased the fold invites and we cut out the teal card stock smaller to the size of the card then used decorated edge scissors around the edge. We then used a rubber stamp that was a big heart and through th heart was words something blue something borrowed ect. We used brown colored ink to stamp the heart onto the card stock then used sticky tabs to bond it to the front of the card. then used a thank you rubber stamp in teal colored ink for the inside of the card. We did 100 of them that way and the other 100 we used the heart rubber stamp with clear embossing ink and then embossing powder that was white metalic and then the thank you on the inside was teal ink. They turned out really good. It only took us a week and a half to make them all but there were set backs during that time. Just thought I would offer the idea of using rubber stamps the colored card stock or even other types of paper and ribbon. with the combination of all or not. There are so many choices in stamps and what you can create its also fun. Thought I would add this as an option of resources for you to concider. I also looked online at free wedding invitation templates designbetty.com had some pretty ones in your color combo but there not free it was like $5.00. Anyway congratulations again and best of luck to you.

I have Microsoft Windows Professional and use Office 3.1 and have all kinds of templates and can even design my own. I love using it. It is complicated to start out with because there are many tools and categories. Keep looking and try to find software that you can design your own with, etc. You will have better luck looking at software download offers on the web. Some have free trial offers and some are totally free. More choices there than looking in stores for sure. Good luck!
