Cal you put a band saw blade on a meat saw ?

Question

I'm looking for a band saw for my woodwork but I can't get one unless we can cut up sheep on it so I wanted to know if I could buy a meat saw and then change the blade on it so I can use it for woodwork or will the blades not fit in it ??

You'll be able to find blades no problem. Bandsaw blades come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and custom length blades are fairly inexpensive. The real concern is cleanliness of the saw. Obviously after butchering a sheep, you would need to break the saw down and clean it very well. The same goes for cutting wood. Before you butcher a sheep, you would need to break the saw down and clean it incredibly well so you don't contaminate the meat. If you miss a little blood, then cut wood; the saw dust will find the blood and create a breeding ground for bacteria.

all band saw blades can be custom sized to fit a band saw == that is the beauty of having a band saw and being able to change the blades to suit your workings ..................
